2026 6th International Conference on Mechanical, Electronics and Electrical and Automation Control (METMS 2026)
was successfully held in Weihai, China from August 14 to 16, 2026!
The conference was directed by Weihai Science and Technology Bureau, Sponsored by Harbin Institute of Technology (Weihai) and Weihai Advanced Medical Materials and High-end Medical Devices Shandong Laboratory, and supported by Shandong University (Weihai), Peking University Institute of Ocean Research, IEEE SMC Embodied AI Systems Technical Committee and Beijing Section Joint Chapter (IEEE SMC and IEEE RA). The conference brought together IEEE Fellow, national high-level talents, young scientific research backbones, enterprise engineering technicians and postgraduate students to carry out all-round academic exchanges around cutting-edge directions such as mechanical engineering, electronics and electricity, automation, body intelligence, robotics and intelligent manufacturing, and build an international and high-level interdisciplinary exchange and cooperation platform.

The opening ceremony of the conference was presided over by Huang Bo, Dean of the School of Ocean Engineering at Harbin Institute of Technology (Weihai), and Vice President Zhang Huaqiang of Harbin Institute of Technology (Weihai) delivered the opening address. Vice President Zhang Huaqiang noted that the Weihai Campus has made deep inroads into the field of high-end marine equipment and, leveraging high-quality research platforms, has produced numerous landmark achievements. He emphasized that the deep integration of electromechanical control and AI currently serves as the core pillar for developing a new type of productive forces. He expressed hope that scholars from home and abroad would use this conference as an opportunity to exchange cutting-edge research findings, advance the transformation of research into practical applications through industry-academia-research collaboration, and work together to support the strategies for building a manufacturing powerhouse and a maritime powerhouse.

This conference invited four experts with profound attainments in related fields to give a report, covering many frontier research directions such as body intelligence, robot motion control, multimodal perception and motion planning. The report session of the conference was presided over by IEEE Fellow, Yu Junzhi, vice president of Peking University Institute of Oceanography, and Song Yong, vice president of School of Low-altitude Science and Engineering of Shandong University.

The conference specially set up a special session on "Body Intelligence, Robot Control and Optimization: From Perception to Physical Action", and also set up a lecture venue for young scholars.

An award ceremony was held at the meeting. The organizing committee commended the outstanding papers, posters and reports in this session, and encouraged the majority of scientific researchers to continue to deepen their fields, be brave in innovation and actively explore.

The success of this METMS 2026 systematically combed the frontier trends and development trends in the fields of machinery, electronics, electricity and automation control, and further strengthened the academic ties among domestic universities, scientific research institutions and industrial enterprises. In the future, all participants will take this meeting as an opportunity to continue to promote cross-disciplinary innovation and technological iterative upgrading, help the application of related technologies in the fields of intelligent manufacturing, high-end equipment and smart cities, and contribute wisdom and strength to the high-quality development of the industry.
